Vision for the project:
With a new trend of simulators rising, I wanted to be one of the first to create a really full and complete simulator game.
Achievements
Within this project, I learnt a lot about how to create IK rigs within ue5 and UEFN, which I used for the players boxing gloves and the punching bags moving when you hit them. I equally learnt how to rig characters for the boss fights. I also learnt a lot about UI design for this game.
Favourite part
My favourite part of this project was actually creating the third world, which had a Japanese aesthetic. Within blender, I had created a modular kit, which when put together, created the main Dojo. I found having these individual assets was a lot easier when putting together the final build. I also enjoy modelling with this style, as I always find the shapes are so different from anything else that I design.
Challenges I faced
A challenge for this project which I faced was creating the character animations. Although I originally started using Mixamo for the animations, the lack of fighting animations quickly made the boss fights feel repetative, and as a result, I ended up manually rigging some of the characters, to create a unique feel for each boss fight.
Results
The result of this project was that I had designed a simulator game, which included all of the current trends within this game catagory. Despite the code not being finished on this game I plan to revisit it soon and finish up the final pieces.
