Vision for the project:
I wanted this game to be really bright and colourful, with a quick turnaround. I wanted it to include all current gameplay demands and requests from the audience.
Achievements
The design of this game was really bright and vibrant, which was really nice to the eyes. I also learnt to reuse assets but by using UV mapping, change out their materials to create variety, so it didn't look as repeatative.
Favourite part
I created some nice VFX for this project, which can be found at the sell points/ furnaces for each of the colours conveyor belts. I also created some cool VFX for the hittable objects for each colour, the hittable objects are meshes that when you hit them, increase your money, somewhat like a physical dropper.
Challenges I faced
A challenge for this project was creating enough variety whilst also using the same assets. The real reason that I didn't use unique droppers for each of the colours was that there were over 120+ droppers used per plot within the game, and the intention of this game was to have it created and published within a week. Additionally, with the short turn around, I didn't manage to get the coding side of this project completed within the time that I had set myself.
Results
Despite the project never being finished from a programming side of things, I still feel like this project was a success, as I managed to learn a lot about the UV mapping side of design. I also learnt about using decal materials to further add detail within my game.
