Vision for the project:
The vision for this project was to make a fun party game that you and your friends can play, and would hopefully create some fun moments for everyone.
Achievements
I managed to complete the design for this game within a really short time span.
Favourite part
My favourite part of this project was making the actual arena which the players played in. This is because I could focus on solely the visual aspect of it and not have to take level design into account. I do enjoy level design, however it was fun being able to place assets wherever, without having to concern myself with how that would affect the gameplay.
Challenges I faced
A challenge for this project was figuring out the ready up system, and what happens to the players that don't ready up for the next round. I figured the best way to deal with the players who didn't join the game was to give them the option to spectate the game in progress from above. If they decided to stay at the lobby, I gave them a few activities to do, such as a store to buy cosmetics and some hang out spaces.
Results
I think I executed the party game really well, I ended up implementing a rounds system, and randomly selecting a round, from the array of premade minigames. It breaks up the game and removes the idea of repetitiveness.
