Vision for the project:
For this project, I wanted to create a stylized, toon explosion and fire trail.
Achievements
I created what I believe to be an aesthetic and recognisable nuke explosion and fire trail.
Favourite part
My favourite part of this project was making the fire trail. As I began with the actual explosion, all of the materials were already made, so for the fire trail, all I had to do was change a few values inside of the Niagara System, and it was finished.
Challenges I faced
A challenge I faced was creating the breaking away affect at the end of the fire trail, and once the explosion had completed. It took me quite a while to figure out how to add it into my project, however once it was in, I really think it sold the effect and polished it off.
Results
The result of this project is a VFX system, that looks great. I Later used this Niagara System in a later project, so the ability to be able to use this later on and have it readily available was really great, as it saved time.
