Vision for the project:
The vision for the project was to create a tycoon game, but adding in the extra feature of giving the player some control over the designs of what product they are making and selling.
Achievements
I was able to easily create some really cool, animated t-shirt printers, which were all animated through IK rigs. I was also really happy with my design on this project, it was colourful and very clean, overall a really nice looking game.
Favourite part
Within the players plot, they have their own store where they "sell" their t-shirts. I really enjoyed creating the interior design for this, with racks with t-shirts, tables and counters. I equally enjoyed the interior design of the factory area, where I included some cool features, such as a wheel spin, chests that are awarded based off of playtime and more.
Challenges I faced
The main challenge for this game was making the mechanic for the t-shirt designs. Originally I wanted the players to be able to completely customize and create a design from scratch, however due to a limit with the UI inside of UEFN this wasn't possible. My Next idea was to allow the players to pick a design from a premade selection, and then pick the colour of their t-shirts, equally from a premade selection of colours. This ended up being the way we tackled the situation, although it wasn't the original idea, it still worked really well.
Results
The overall design of this project was really well executed. I managed to make a really modern but aesthetic style, that I think works really well. The game feels really polished, and overall, it is definately one of my favourite projects that I have worked on
